Is OxyShred Bad for Your Liver? What the Research Says
If you've been using OxyShred or are seriously considering it, you may have come across online discussions asking whether fat burners can damage the liver. The short answer is that OxyShred is not considered hepatotoxic when taken as directed by a healthy adult. But the full picture is more nuanced than that, and understanding the evidence will help you make a genuinely informed decision.

Why Supplement Liver Safety Matters

Most of OxyShred's formula, L-carnitine, taurine, B vitamins, L-tyrosine, L-glutamine, chromium, and inulin, has no documented hepatotoxicity at supplement doses.
Green coffee bean extract is the main fat-burning compound in OxyShred. It can be confused with green tea extract, but they're unrelated, and it is a different plant with different active compounds. Green coffee bean extract is made from the bean of the coffee fruit that has not yet been roasted. A 2021 meta-analysis in Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice (Asbaghi et al.) reviewed eight randomised controlled trials and found no adverse liver outcomes. A 2017 trial in patients with fatty liver disease actually found improvements in liver enzyme levels after 8 weeks of supplementation.
Caffeine in Fat Burners: What to Know
Caffeine is a common ingredient in fat burners, and each serving of OxyShred contains 150mg of caffeine, roughly one strong coffee. The relevant concern with caffeine is sleep. Caffeine has a half-life of 5–7 hours, meaning an afternoon serve can still be active in your system at bedtime. Poor sleep undermines recovery, appetite regulation, and fat loss, the opposite of what you're taking OxyShred for. Taking it in the morning, as directed, sidesteps this. Who Should Use Extra Caution?

- People on prescription medications. CYP3A4 inhibition (grapefruit compounds) and cholinergic activity (Huperzine A) can interact with certain drugs. Check with a pharmacist.
